Creative and innovative Web Editor II for Mandarin Language Service, located in RFA’s Washington DC offices.

Responsibilities Include

  • Selecting, promoting, and creatively packaging RFA’s Mandarin broadcasts on the Web.

  • Contributing to on-going Web development with innovative features and solutions.

  • Staying current with developments in Internet best practices and technology.

  • Executing a variety of digital editing functions such as image and video formatting, editing and publishing.

  • Ensuring that content complies with the journalistic style of RFA’s Web site.

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A creative team player who is a regular reader of China- and Asia-related news online; is well versed in Web technologies; and works efficiently under broadcast deadlines.

  • A native Mandarin Chinese speaker or having the equivalent of native fluency, and fluency in English.

  • Experience (or substantial training) in Photoshop, video editing applications (WMM, Premiere and Flash), and writing HTML.

  • Prior journalism or writing experience preferred, as is experience working with content management systems or software tools such as Dreamweaver.
