Lao Nork from Laval :

You have 2 choices if you want to help the poor people of Laos . One is to shut your mouth and close your eyes and help the poor . Or open your mouth and criticize the government which will kick you out in 24 hours without listening to you and left the poor Lao people face their unknown future alone . So which one would you like ?

Let me clarify; it is not up to her to disseminate internal information. If there were/are irregularities, then she must report this to her superiors. Latter then will decide, if money is being spent or not. But NGOs are not there to critizise the host country - unless instructed so by the donor. She is exexcutive and not legislative hence in this context she overstepped apparently her competence. But knowing my home country they will follow-up matters with an internal investigation - and hopefully will share the outcome with the Laotians.
Money rules the world but who rules the money? In this case certainly the NGOs.

This Lao puppet government which created by Vietcong communist of present Hanoi regime after liberating the country monarchy. In the surface, it looks like the Laos in control of the country but in reality, the Vietnamese expansionists navigating the country from Villages to the highest levels, you all will see the Vietnamese spy and people. It is a great courage of her on behalf of Laos to speak out against this brainless and slave regime. Buddha bless you all.

Gindroz has not done anyone a favour. She is there in official capacity which does not allow for any deviation from her job description.
I congratulate the Laotians to take such measures despite the delicacy of the subject. Gindroz reports only internally to her superiors; her diplomatic status kept her from facing the real music. I, for one, would send her back to Switzerland (my home country) and keep her there to avoid any further deviation as she clearly explained, that she had not learnt the lesson:

Local boy :

I agree with you, absolutely!!! I have spent almost 20 years working with 5-6 different organizations here in Laos. The fact is that almost 60% of budget of INGOs funded project would intentionally go foreign experts and their personal travels and dependents. The Government and local authorities have no right to influence as the NGOs themselves manage the actuall disbursement of fund. How will the local people get full benefits??? When the government or a local authority tries to intervene and adjust the budget then often they refuse to act accordingly. This is the fact, although some INGOs are doing exceptional work for the Lao people, a few are just here to do other things for their personal benefits.

Yes, Laos is the one of poorest countries in Asia because of that we want useful resources we had. On the other hand, the developed countries in the world had already destroyed environment, isn't it? including your country I think!
My suggestion is don't try to anti Lao government and to destroy the Party, it impossible and one more thing : we are happy with one Party OK, you must open your eyes see around the world now, a lot of people died everyday because of what?
You don't think a lot of party will be good , just good for the leaders also. If you think Laos is the country doesn't have freedom for you, don't come OK!

Frank from Zurich :

I think the lady should just go about her business and provide humanitarian aid and not mix into the politics of others. I contribute to Helvetas for reasons of bettering other peoples lives, independent of the political surroundings. Regimes and politics are a different ball game, one in which Helvetas to my knowledge should not play except that they have to contend with those circumstances to help the population. But then, I wonder where my contributions to Helvetas go with a director in Laos supporting seven kids and a husband?

To all of you who talk without any knowledge about this situation nor understanding of development issues.
She was fighting precisely against small farmers expropriation by the government heavily corrupted by chinese and other local companies. How can you develop agriculture if people have no land ?

That libertine woman with big mouth deserves to get kicked out from the country for her hostile propaganda against Laos where she was assigned by Helvetas to help in the agricultural development. It was none of her duty to criticize the political system of Laos to poison the environment among the donor countries, which are looking to bring assistance to that tiny landlocked country famous as the most bombed on earth.

One-party Leninist bureaucratic authoritarian regimes like in Laos remain among a small number of the world's most repressive and liberty-stifling regimes, and generators of mass suffering by standing in the way of progress for their citizens, who are treated like imperial subjects that cannot voice any disagreement with their dictatorial rulers.

This expulsion for telling the truth is not shocking; sadly it is what one expects from this corrupt and incompetent regime to which truth is a stranger. Sooner rather than later the Lao people will rise up against this gang of corrupt geriatrics who will then take their billions to China and continue to live in the manner that they have deprived their own people of even imagining.
