Reply to this commentIn an address to the Parliament the Foreign Minister who lacks diplomatic training and proper education in international and foreign affairs categorically stated that it is not possible for an impoversihed nations like Bangladesh to take on the additional burden of the refugees from Myanmar. On the same day the TV broadcast atleast two instances of cake-cutting ceremonies by the Prime MInister, as well as, the Foreign Minister were telecast on some occassion that betrayed the just spoken words designating Bangladesh as an impoverished nation that betrays any shred of austerity just by the sheer size of the CAKE. BUDDHA IN A STATE OF DISTURBED TRANQUILITY.

Reply to this commentPeople who are barking here against rohingya are either racist or ignorant or they could be well mis-influenced by their military ruler to hate one of the aboriginal ethnicity of that land. So called arakan state was full of muslim even before todays rakhine started living and got the land of rohingya when their govt resettled them bringing from other territory. Isn't it history, Burma you say you are moving toward democracy by killing people with helicopter at so called ethnic violence.

Reply to this commentYou are showing your historical back ground as zero.Arakan history has evidents since BC 352 and so called rohingyas has no evident until AD 1950 and they created history missing with Arakan kingdom. If you don't know detail you shouldn't take part in to avoid conflicts

That does not justify violence of any kind! Who cares who arrived where first? Everyone deserves to live wherever they want to live in peace without worrying about dying.
Stop acting like children fighting over who's first. Please.

You ask the international community to help. Why not your own country? You just keep saying stop the genocide, give them citizenship. Have you any proof that there is genocide? There are pictures of genocides on Facebook but these are not from Arakan but from Africa. Copied some old news article and captions were put under it, "The genocide in Arakan!" and thousands of Muslims shared the picture thinking that is the real picture. Now who's manipulating who?

Reply to this commentBangladesh suffered enough in Burma's hand. Our present government is weak and we lost all the chances before. We need to follow Isreal's policies, We need to take 10 times more land than Arakan from Burma. Then settle Rohingas in there and rest of the land to Bengalis. If Burma tries again she will loose more land. That's the only way to control Burmese bullies.

History will tell the truth and what is happening there in Arakan is only called BRUTALITY to weak minority by Myanmars government and Rakhanie terrorist...
Even the minority Rohinga cannt marry, have children, get new land without government permission even the ROHINGAS dont allow to government job, defense
even Shu Khi is silence in this matter for vote bank of Buddhist

Reply to this commentThere is not a calamity that you are faced with that has not fallen upon the Prophets and Messengers of Allaah...take heed from the way the dealt with their trials and strive to be like them because they are examples for us! People often complain about their hardships and completely overlook the fact that Allaah has chosen for them what He Jalla wa 'ala chose for His beloveds, Allaahu Akbar!

Reply to this commentEthnic cleansing and ruthless blood-baths has been fueling extremism. Creating terrorists in those breeding ground is quite easier by funding/supplying weapons by superpowers/Pseudo-superpowers.
We saw it in Middle East, now in Asia. Results would be a joint venture anti-terrorism exercise which will shiver civil rights and peace for long.
Facts:
Rohingya is a Muslim ethnic minority who live in Western Myanmar isolated by the government, refused citizenship and routinely abused and extorted. As a consequence tens of thousands flee to neighbouring Bangladesh and other countries. Many also arrive to Australia as refugees, and I(Yasin) had a personal story related of one refugee whose entire family excluding him was shot dead in front his eyes.

Reply to this commentThe base way is to relocate all Rohingya to other Muslim countries. Burma strongly believes that Rohingya is not included in 135 ethnics, period. And, they don't want Muslim even though they have to accept some Muslim in big cities. Not that much problem with chinese because chinese are buddhist. As long as Rohingyas are in Rakhine State, there will be conflicts between them forever. If Burma accepted Rohingya, the whole Bangladesh would move into under Rohingya Umbrella. Burma will never let that happen.

Gee!! What we witness is a different one. Very different. Those so called, they burnt their homes themselves and flee out to the sea when people come to extinguish the fire. RFA, come see Sittwe your self and make your report trust worthy. How come the one who fired their home on themselves and insult the locals become the one who have to escape from the incident sadly????

Reply to this commentSo Ali, have you any proof Burmese soldiers are killing them? All I have seen, Burmese soldiers kill Buddhist monks (Saffron revolution) and so many Shan and Kachin ethnics to the east but no Rohingyas. During the riots in Arakan, they showed full restraints and took measured interventions which is very unlikely of them but it's true. Shame on the western media being bribed and influenced by rich Islamic countries like UAE, Saudi Arabia and Dubai.

No, they won't be accept as citizens, they are Bangladesh descents and they will always be immigrants. You don't even know about Burma and never been to Burma. Don't say anything with your little knowledge.

Reply to this commentI have been following this news for days. One thing I realized that reporters and some journals are so busy to inflame a mass religious conflict, deliberately using words "Buddhist Vs Muslims". Reading journals from both sides I only can see it is a conflict between local ethnics and immigrants, which should be solved by rule of law. This sort of report will only escalate the violence. Not reporting from the actual cite will not be convincing.

1. More than 200000+ Rakhanine lived in coxsbazar & patuakhali district ( in Bangladesh ) according to history , their ancestors comes from Burma more than 120 years ago. Rakhaine community also agrees this. [ if you need more reference , ask me]. But obviously they are now Bangladeshi Citizen , whatever their ethnic rooted from burma. Personally I am very fond of their handmade clothings. I'm a muslim , and I am also rejoiced by their new year program.
Rohingya's may be / may not be ethnically rooted to chittagong , Bangladesh - it was 150+ years ago. Denying their decestors - who born and brought up in Myanmar - is racial ,uncivilized, shameful and against international law.
We wants a prosphorous , happy , peaceful Myanmar - a decent neighbour. Please Myanmar's people - judge yourself , ask yourself , honor yourself. Don't reveal your nation as a honorless wild nation.
