Digital Content Producer for Graphic Design, Uyghur Service
Radio Free Asia (RFA) is a private, Washington, DC-based, nonprofit corporation that provides accurate and timely news and information to Asian countries whose governments prohibit access to a free press. Delivered in nine Asian languages in addition to English, our journalism extends beyond radio to include web, video, mobile and e-books. RFA Uyghur Service is currently seeking dynamic and motivated professionals skilled in the planning, preparation, and production of graphic design projects to join its team and help it fulfill its mission by producing creative, polished, and engaging online multimedia content. This position will be based in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities Include:
- Must be a highly creative designer who can take conceptual ideas and create visual representations.
- Must have expert knowledge of latest design software with a strong portfolio of work
- Skilled with every step of the design process from concept to final product
- Able to work on a wide-range of design projects
- Obtain input from superiors and express ideas accurately
- Work independently and cooperatively on graphic design projects with different teams
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, art of similar discipline
- 3+years of experience in professional graphic design using design software including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Dreamweaver etc.
- Photography experience and proficiency with photo-editing software
- Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills
- Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5 and JAVA Script preferred
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
- Required language skills: Spoken and written fluency in Uyghur and working proficiency in English and Mandarin.
