Global Mandarin Research Internship

RFA has an opportunity for a current student or recent graduate of a program in the field of Journalism, Communications, or other related academic subject to undertake an unpaid research internship with its Global Mandarin team in its Washington, DC, headquarters. Due to the circumstances of Covid-19 pandemic, this internship will be conducted in a telework arrangement until return-to-office plans are implemented.

This internship will provide the intern with a hands-on learning opportunity at an international media enterprise to develop skills in areas such as content research, data research, interviewee research, and outreach through engaging with writers and editors on editorial projects. The internship will be focused on the editorial team with the intern welcome to join and participate in the editorial meetings. Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, data processing and analytics preferred. Fluency in Mandarin Chinese required as is proficiency in English.
