Mandarin Graphic / Motion Graphic Design Contractor

RFA’s Mandarin Service is currently seeking an experienced graphic designer with journalism background to work with its web editors and social media and video teams to improve the service's outward-facing presence across all its digital platforms.  Scope of work to include:

• Processing and editing news photos for website and social media
• Designing social media cards that convey important messages
• Designing website banners, posters, thumbnails, show covers and other products that help promote RFA productions
• Independently pitching graphic and infographic news report ideas; working with editors to produce graphic and infographic reports
• Working with editors to produce multimedia web reporting that hubs texts, photos, videos and other interactive elements
• Working with video producers to tailor motion graphic elements on video productions.

Work requirements include a strong graphic and infographic design background; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; strong ability in research; knowledge in HTML and web design (preferred); newsroom and journalism experience; the ability to work well in a team setting; the ability to meet deadlines; fluency in Mandarin and English; and a degree in graphic design or a related field.
