RFA is currently seeking a Senior Database Administrator (SDBA) to join its Technical Operations (Tech Ops) team and be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, diagnosis, and performance tuning of critical SQL Server database systems, and to ensure the availability and consistent performance of our corporate applications. Incumbents must be comfortable working in a diverse multicultural environment.

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administering and maintaining RFA's administrative databases. Installing and upgrading the administrative databases as needed. Monitoring and optimizing the administrative databases. Performing backup and recovery of all administrative databases.
  • Developing policies and taking appropriate measures to ensure the data confidentiality and security of RFA’s data. Monitoring staff’s compliance with confidentiality policies to assure that security standards are met.
  • Coordinating all system maintenance for the administrative databases.
  • Providing technical assistance on database issues to RFA’s Administration staff using the databases.
  • Designing and developing database applications in response to RFA’s information needs. Installing developed applications, writing application manuals, and training users.
  • Under limited supervision, applying systems analysis and design techniques to analyze and evaluate operational requirements or problems, and devising database programs and related procedures to process data and facilitate solutions.
  • Installing and configuring SQL Databases on Windows Server Standard and Enterprise Editions.
  • Performing daily database backups for disaster recovery, performing daily administrator database verification, analysis and monitoring, index maintenance.
  • Designing, developing and modifying new or existing VBA applications for RFA Finance, Human Resources, Tech Ops departments and nine language services, and routine user management.
  • Establishing the needs of users and monitoring user access and security monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users.
  • Cooperating with System Admin group for relevant server upgrades and Costpoint system updates.
  • Cooperating with Deltek technical support for troubleshooting of RFA’s Costpoint system.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 8 years directly-relevant professional experience or a Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or relevant certification.
  • Solid experience in Microsoft SQL Server Management (SSMS) and T-SQL for administering daily work.
  • Must have experience writing and optimizing on SQL and PL/SQL
  • Sound knowledge of database management system (DBMS) concepts, database architecture.
  • Must have the experience writing and optimizing on Visual Basic for applications
  • Experience creating and troubleshooting constraints and indexes.
