Social Media Specialist, Asia Fact Check Lab



Asia Fact Check Lab is a new platform by Radio Free Asia that aims to provide viewers with accurate and unbiased analysis of China-related statements made in public in order to counter misinformation and disinformation and to increase knowledge of critical issues. Asia Fact Check Lab is currently seeking an experienced and creative social media specialist to regenerate content created by Asia Fact Check Lab and manage audience communities on various social media platforms. This full-time position is open for US- and Taipei-based candidates. 


Responsibilities Include

  • Day-to-day content and audience community management of the Asia Fact Check Lab accounts on popular social media platforms.
  • Developing Asia Fact Check Lab’s social media outreach strategy. 
  • Developing and implementing ways of adapting Asia Fact Check Lab’s content to engage audiences on social media platforms.
  • Monitoring and responding to viewers’/readers’ comments and feedback. Interacting with journalism fact-checking communities.
  • Using analytics to monitor the effectiveness of social posts and campaigns; providing feedback to the editorial team based on data.
  • Keeping up with industry trends and use of social media in the target market; identifying opportunities to grow audiences on existing and new social platforms.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience with a track record of successful experience in marketing campaigns.
  • Fluency in social media platforms. Prior social media management experience in a professional setting is preferred.
  • Good social media writing/editing/graphic design skills, Experience in news and media production preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and handle deadlines.
  • Ability to work well with a remote team in different time zones.
  • A strong personal social media profile of the candidate is a plus.
  • Fluency in both Mandarin Chinese and English.
