Web Technical Consultant/Contractor


RFA is currently seeking an experienced and self-motivated individual to provide accurate and timely statistics-reporting services to its Web Technical team on a part-time basis.  Status will be as a 1099 independent contractor. 

Scope of work to include: Gathering, analyzing, and organizing data from multiple sources using custom software developed by team members (i.e. MySQL queries and Python scripts); updating configuration variables in custom software as needed (i.e. URLs and authentication tokens); entering data into databases, spreadsheets, and documents; performing calculations and error checks on collected data in order to ensure the accuracy of reported metrics; identifying trends and anomalies in data; explaining characteristics of data in plain English to managers and editorial staff; participating in periodic reviews of the data collection and reporting process as new reporting requirements arise. 

Work requires meticulous data entry skills; attention to detail and the ability to carefully read and follow directions; Google Docs and Microsoft Office suite experience (strong spreadsheet skills required); experience running MySQL queries and preparing CSV files for upload to a MySQL database; experience using a command line interface for tasks such as installing packages and sending files over a network; experience working in Unix/Linux environments; familiarity with the Python language; ability to work independently and in a team environment; excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical team members.
