Censorship is routine in the PRC, but it naturally stirs up controversy when undertaken in countries that have legally protected rights to freedom of expression that are actually defended by an judiciary that is independent of executive control. However, the Confucius Institute's leaders and middle managers seem mostly unaware of this situation, or else dismissive of it.

China leadership has unlimited paranoia. They are living in daily hell already, they have lost their "happy". Forcing their thought will backfire.
