We won't forgive who do such bad thing for Lao culture

Reply to this commentThis is so shameful to Lao authority and Lao People's Revolutionary Party whom always propagate that they are for Lao and protecting Lao sovereignty. This is a clear evident that they are Vietnamese puppets. The master-puppet relationship was
hidden for many decades to Laotain. The arrogant BIDV chairman, Ha Bac Tran, just showed Laotian and the world that he can take any things in Laos as he prefers.
The Lao media does not covers this incident as expected; since it just an apparatus of Lao authority. This incident should be a wake up call to all Laotain on having leaders without election and from a single monopoly political party. There is no check and balance in Lao governor system. The current Lao prime minister, Thongsing Thammavong, was pushed up from a demand of Vietnamese communist party; and of course the puppet prime minister just inactive (until people make some noise) to his master's bad behavior.

Reply to this commentVietnamese never show respect to our culture and heritage. Im sure if a Lao person were to make off with Vietnamese artifact. They would be punish by the Vietnamese government.
The Lao government should teach that Vietnamese banker a lesson and be punish for his crime. If they don't do anything about it. It obvious that more and more Vietnamese like him will continue to steal and endanger Laos rich heritage culture and nationalism for the Laotian people around the world. We Laotian demand him to punish!

Reply to this commentAnne Clark: It is not a silly story. This story reflects the reality in Laos. Vietnamese has so much power that they can take what they want. This story is about the victory of the oppressed Lao people who were able to fight back and to keep what they have.
Without their initiatives to make noise on the social media, the Vietnamese thief would have the statue for good.

Reply to this commentWhat a silly and long article about 5 hours missing of Lao Buddha statue, committed by a greedy Vietnamese but dragged the country, politics, grievances, anti-Vietnam, land disputes... Wonder how long and how much detailed of a story if the Vietnamese guy keeps it for a day?

Reply to this commentAnna, people with no sentimental ties toward these things
would certainly show some kind of insensitivity and/or carelessness.
I'm also curious if I would care if you've ever had any thing dearest to you stolen in front of your own eyes ?
