The Rome Statute established four core international crimes: genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and the crime of aggression. Those crimes "shall not be subject to any statute of limitations". Importantly, it's Depositary is the UN Secretary-General. This means if Myanmar is a member state to the UN. The case of war crimes in Myanmar can be referred to the ICC as it's stated clearly that those crimes "shall not be subject to any statute of limitations" which means being member or not member of Rome Statue will not be the priority. I hope the NUG will and can rightfully bring forward the war crime cases in Myanmar to the ICC as soon as possible.
