People’s Party (PP)

It was founded and registered in 2019 by former student leaders of the 1988 pro-democracy demonstrations against military rule. Before the 2015 elections, some of them sought to join the NLD but were not selected as candidates. This time around, they have formed their own political party and are planning to contest about half of constituencies nationwide, hoping to appeal to voters seeking an alternative to the NLD.

He plans to contest in 2020 elections in South Okkalapa township in Yangon.
