In WWII, Turkey issued passports to Jews fleeing Nazis. Turkey issuing passports to Uyghurs is the same. Not to mention the fact that Uyghurs are Turks and they are seeking safety from China.

Hai from Australia :

Why these Uyghurs leave China without going through normal way by taking flight/ship? Do they commit some crimes in China and want to escape subsequent prosecution? I have seen a video clip in youtube about 5 July 2009 Uyghur riot in Urumqi: Uyghur rioters use stick, bricks, knife to kill any innocent people on the streets under daylight. Are they family members of these Uyghur rioters?

Yes, there are lots of evidences. Rejected to be employed because of not Chinese, banned from religious practices, not allowed to wear religiously, passports not issued to Uyghur women whereas it is fundamental rights to get them for each person who has Chinese citizenship, those who got them bribed officials while Chinese got them only by filling out form. Uyghur farmers lost their land which was given to Chinese immigrants from other provinces...enough? Enjoy it chinks.

" fleeing persecution in northwestern China’s restive Xinjiang region". Really? Apart from the usual expatriate propaganda, is there any evidence that Uyghurs are being 'persecuted'? From all accounts, they seem to be much better off than any of their fellows in neighboring nations.
