Slideshow: Dalai Lama Draws Large Crowd

A large crowd of supporters gathered outside the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, October 17, to celebrate the awarding of the Congressional Gold Medal to the Dalai Lama of Tibet. Tibetans, many in national dress, joined the crowd to hear an address by the Dalai Lama and to enjoy performances of traditional music and dance. RFA was there and caught the joyful mood in the following series of pictures.
