유엔 산하 국제민간항공기구(ICAO)가 3일 북한의 지속적인 예고없는 미사일 시험 발사를 규탄했습니다.
이 기구는 이날 보도자료를 통해 이번주에 열린 국제민간항공기구 226차 이사회에서 북한의 예고없는 미사일 발사들이 국제 민간항공 안전에 중대한 위협이 될 뿐만 아니라 유엔 안전보장이사회 결의 1718호, 2270호, 2321호 위반이라고 규탄했다고 밝혔습니다. (The ICAO Council condemned the continuation of unannounced missiles being launched by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), which continue to pose a serious safety risk to international civil aviation and occurred in defiance of the United Nations Security Council Resolutions 1718, 2270 and 2321.)
이사회는 이어 북한에 국제민간항공협약과 국제민간항공기구 표준 및 권장 관행을 준수할 것을 촉구했습니다. (The Council again urged the State to act in accordance with and respect for the Convention on International Civil Aviation, and to comply with applicable ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).)
36개 국제민간항공기구 회원국 대표로 구성된 ICAO이사회는 국제민간항공기구 사무국)에 북한과 직∙간접적인 모든 기술활동을 피하고 계속 상황을 주시하며 보고할 것을 요청했습니다. (The Governing Body of ICAO, comprised of diplomatic representatives from 36 ICAO Member States, also reiterated that the UN agency's Secretariat should avoid all technical activities with the DPRK of a direct or indirect nature. The Council requested the Secretariat to continue to actively monitor the situation and to report any developments.)
또 이사회는 오는 9월에 열리는 국제민간항공기구 제41차 총회에서 모든 회원국들에 관련 사안을 제출하기로 결정했다고 밝혔습니다.
국제민간항공기구는 유엔 산하의 전문기구로 국제 항공 운송에 필요한 원칙과 기술 및 안전에 대해 연구하기 위해 지난 1947년에 발족됐으며 캐나다 몬트리올에 본부를 두고 있습니다.
