It's so sad when I've read this news. I don't understand why Lao PDR government still discriminate against Lao NOK. If I were a powerful person in the Lao PDR government I would have granted them DUAL CITIZENSHIPS in order for us to be able to reunite and build our nation together.

I strongly urge Lao government; especially, whoever has full power putting this bill into law; please consider Lao Nok as our compatriots, do not discriminate against them because they are Laotians (KHON LAO) as well. If we'd like to reunite laotians from all over the world. Why don't we grant them DUAL CITIZENSHIP? Then they will joint us building our country to be one of the strongest nation in the world.

As a Laotian Hmong American, I am strongly urged the Lao law makers to consider this bill and pass it without reservation. A lot of Laotians overseas want to come to Laos to invest and to help the GOL build the country using their expertise in a variety of fields. However, there are still problems: (1) mistrust b/ the GOL and Laotians overseas, especially if you are a Hmong; (2)rule of law=weak; (3) corruption+discrimination=common; (4)courts=not independent to enforce contract law, and etc. These problems make a person thinks twice before he/she decides to come to invest in Laos.

LPDR is not something less than a beggar. Only want to get, never want to give. who ever want to invest in Lao is a stupid. Lao economic policy over Lao oversea never work. If you buy a land, soon they will accuse you of what ever crine against you to take away your property. who? will want to go and do business in Lao? Only Chinese and Vietnamese who politically override Lao can do any thing they want. Am I right folks?
