Lee from Easley :

It is interesting that China has a 99 year lease on Hambantota Port in Sri Lanka. This may not be completely bad for Sri Lanka in the light of rising sea levels. A study showed some significant potential risk to Sri Lanka specifically China will have incentive to protect its investment and have supporting roads and infrastructure ready for the new coast line. Sri Lanka could actually be more ready to face the future with a warmer planet, especially if China contributes further to the warming with more coal power plants, as the article fears!

Srilanka can approach other banks and won't be eaten up by China like Laos. Other African countries must do the same. DON'T PAY THE CHINESE DEBT! It's a trap.

Now countries in business contact with China can see that the Chinese set debt traps on them. Unless they want to be eaten up by China they can continue to let the Chinese in. If not they just kick them out.For those whose the Chinese debt payment are due they can refuse to pay and seek investment funds from other banks rather than the Chinese banks.
